Halifax were quite confident going into the match, although a couple of the usual players down, fielding a couple of substitutes and also having a previous win - although very hard fought.

Bradford Uni are a young, fit team but Halifax had a good deal of the play during the first half, even with what seemed like some harsh decisions given against them.

Unfortunately Bradford got the first goal about ten minutes into the game, quite a soft goal that Halifax should not have conceded. Linda Clarkson was picking up the sweeper position this week and did some great calling to organise the Halifax defence which closed ranks at the back and ensured some much tighter defending.

Some great marking and defending on the right by Amber Pennyward, increasing in confidence week by week for a young player.

Second half, after a tough team talk by Captain Anj Wright, Halifax were much more positive, getting some great chances on goal and some great midfield play by Helen Chadwick-Marshall on the right and Leigh Hirst on the left, sticking close to their players making it hard for Bradford to make progress down the pitch.

Gail Crabtree had a really good run down the left following a great pass by Claire Robertshaw, crossing into the D for a superb goal by Rebecca Kendall, levelling the score.

Bradford had a number of shots at goal and Sasha (Slasher) Pennyward had probably her best match ever with some really confident saves and showing real presence in that goal area - definitely deserving of the man of the match!
