Slazengers Ladies III 4-1 Halifax Ladies IV
Halifax worked hard from the start, with Slazengers going straight into attack, and forcing a great save from the Katie Collins in goals.
Slazengers kept pressing which resulted in an own goal. Halifax kept their heads up, had a few good runs down the right by Hannah Smith and Connie Attwood, but were cut off by the defensive as it was sent into the D. Halifax still showed composure, working the ball round the back of the defensive to set up a run from Cara Casson down the left. Casson and Penny Haigh battled hard in the D, resulting in a goal around the keeper.
Slazengers scored a short corner in the last minute of the half to go into the break in the lead.
Halifax battled hard in the second half but many opportunities cut off at the top of the D. Slazengers broke away from a Halifax side line ball and scored a one on one with the keeper, despite the valiant efforts of Collins. Attwood set up several good attacks down the right, one leading to a shot on goal which unfortunately went just wide of the post with the keeper beaten.
Slazengers then scored again to make the score 4-1, before Halifax had a goal disallowed from a short corner at the death, the ball squeezing off a defenders stick to end high in the net.
