L3 moved top of the league with a comfortable home 2-0 victory over Tadcaster.

Halifax III 2-0 Tadcaster I

Its now an incredible 25 games unbeaten for the Ladies 3s

Halifax's third game of the new season was a battle against a physical Tadcaster side. From the start of the game, Halifax dominated possession with some great passing and brilliant individual skill and were unlucky not to be winning at the break through some great chances created by Emily Crowe, Helen Williams, Charlotte Taylor and Laura Neimantas.

The second half was more fruitful for the home side. A well worked penalty corner saw a great strike on goal by Margaret Bottomley deflected in by a Tadcaster defender.

This gave Halifax the confidence to press on for more goals. Midfielders Hannah Speakman and Libby Baldwin pushed hard down the right hand side of the pitch and managed to win Halifax another penalty corner with around 15 minutes to go.

A good injection from Anya Wasilewski saw Charlotte Taylor set Baldwin up for her second goal of the season.

The last few minutes saw Tadcaster get the only two proper chances they had in the game, but young goalkeeper Kathy Shao showed great composure to deny the away side with some spectacular saves.

This win sees Halifax go top of Yorkshire Division 2.
