Halifax took on runaway league leaders without several key players in the first match after the mid season break.
Despite the score line Halifax battled well and played some good hockey.
Claire Hoey returned to third team action and slotted straight back in. Leeds applied pressure, with one of their forwards in particular, repeatedly breaking quickly down the channel with the skill and speed to trouble the Halifax defence. Despite this Jess Stott made some excellent tackles and Kiera Hayman had a good game in goal for Halifax.
Player of the day, Courtenay Fisher was at the heart of much that was good about Halifax’s forward play but opportunities for Halifax to score went begging.
The result leaves Leeds in a more or less unassailable position at the top of Yorkshire Division 4 and Halifax still in third place chasing the second promotion place.
