Back to back wins for Ladies 2′s to move 2nd

Halifax 2nds 8 – 1 Halifax 3rds

In the second of the weekend’s fixtures for hte Ladies 2nd team, Sunday’s game was a Halifax derby.

Halifax II knew Halifax III would give them a difficult game. It took a while for Halifax II to break through the tough Halifax III defence.

However, about 15 minutes into the first half, Halifax II got their first goal, which again came from some fantastic passing play. It was 3-0 going into half time and Halifax knew Halifax III would come back at them fighting.

However, Halifax 2 got a quick goal after half time making it 4-0.

Halifax III managed to get passed the Halifax II defence and put the ball in the back of the net making it 4-1.

But Halifax II were keen to secure 2nd position in Division 3 and with some great attacking play, managed to score another 4 goals, final score 8-1. Scorers were: Margaret Bottomley (3), Claire Waldron, Michaela Holroyd (2), Ruth Bury, Dani Parker.
