Halifax started well in the first half with some strong movement up the pitch from Adele Muffy and Sarah Routledge, and some fantastic defence from Ruth Bury and Claire keeping Driffield from causing any real danger.
Halifax keeper Kiera Hayman, filling in for Captain Beccy Fisk kept them in the first half with a save pulled out of the back to stop the opposition opening the score from a penalty corner.
Fax struggled to convert, creating many chances entering the Driffield dee 19 times as well as 3 short corners but we're held at a standstill going into half time.
After the half time team talk from coach and team manager for the day April Hendy, Fax stepped it up a gear and went all guns blazing into the second half, some great link up play from Leah Kalter, Anna Butterworh in defence to Amy March, Jo Love and Ruth Prosser lead to some great plays pushing Driffield into their own half and putting the pressure on to the defence, a few attempts at goal later and prayers were answered as Halifax scored. A shot from Rebecca Brown was saved but fell nicely for Sarah Routledge who smoothly lifted the ball into back of the net over the keeper.
Spirit was lifted for Halifax who followed it up and some great attacking play down the right from Amy March and Adele Muffy, put Driffield on the back foot once again, a great hit from Ruth Bury found Rebecca Brown amongst the defence who created space shot to beat the keeper for their second goal. Fax had a few spells of defence which was mopped up nicely before they attacked again.
A well built attack lead to Brown having time to calmly slot home her second of the game. Fax piled on the pressure on a deflated Driffield side and a quick well taken sideline from Love found Adele Muffy in plenty of space who rocketed the ball for fax to seal the deal and get there fourth of the game just in time before the final whistle went.
