A newly put together Halifax Ladies 2nd team played at home against Lindum 2nds. With normal captain Rebecca Fisk absent the team worked hard to put in a performance that she would be proud of.
The match got off to a good start with the newly promoted junior players settling in well. A vocal performance from Leah (not sure on 2nd name) at the back and a confident effort from the man of the match Amy (again not sure on name) on the right wing helped Halifax off to a dominant start. An unfortunate turn of events saw a goal conceded after a string of short corners.
Halifax continued to battle throughout the game constantly putting pressure on the Lindum goal. Sadly, the net was not found despite several attempts from the forward line. Towards the end of the game the Halifax defence soaked up pressure to keep the score at 1-0.
A good team performance is the summary of the day, still looking for that first win but it can't be far off with such a promising team starting to gel as a unit.
