Ladies 2s ran Leeds Adel close but eventually lost 4-2 away

Halifax allowed Leeds Adel to dominate at the beginning of the game and quickly found themselves behind.

The Leeds Adel forwards were quick and with some slick passing inside the Halifax goal circle carved chances time and again, scoring two goals early on in the match and adding another midway through the first half.

Towards the end of the 1st half we had several chances to score but couldn't convert. Niamh Brennan worked Leeds Adel's defence and made some quick turns. The Halifax defence made some great tackles and Steph Hoyle cleared the ball well with Becca Murray closing down the middle and putting in some great low tackles.

There was some great passing between Louise Evans, Becca Hargreaves and Anna Butterworth down the left hand side. Some good saves made by our keeper Beccy Fisk whilst at the other end forward Harriet Wood kept the opposition on their toes with some surging runs down the right.

Used to adversity, Halifax came back strongly and were in charge for much of the second half.

Rachel Hoyle scored Halifax’s first goal with a fantastic reverse hit finishing off some great dribbling down the right. The second goal assisted by Louise and April Hendy was scored by Courtenay Fisher, bringing the score back to 3-2 in favour of Adel.

With 5 minutes left and Halifax throwing players forwards looking for an equaliser Adel scored their 4th goal.

Overall Halifax battled hard and were left to rue that they had not started the game better.
