Halifax were ready for challenge against Dewsbury's first team from the whistle, with Bethany Smith pressing hard in midfield and Grace Ramsden making a strong run down the right hand side.
Shortly after, Dewsbury were unforgiving when they intercepted a cleared ball from Halifax defence and scored.
Cat Vose and April Hendy battled hard to stop the ball entering Halifax's D, with Becky Fisk in goals making some fantastic saves.
However Dewsbury punished Halifax before half time with another goal after some skilled passing created space in midfield.
The second half started promisingly with Cara James receiving some sharp passes from Anna Butterworth on the left, which she released to Sara Wooders at the top of the D who won Halifax their first short corner.
Cat Vose took a powerful shot on goal but Grace Ramsdens deflection narrowly missed.
Halifax continued to battle to break the score line but their efforts weren't rewarded, with the full time score ending 2-0 in Dewsbury’s favour.
