Halifax faced Doncaster in their second match in the North league at Park Lane.
From the off it was obvious that the teams were pretty evenly matched and it was going to be a battle from start to finish.
Doncaster started the better team and immediately put the Halifax defence under pressure, however some solid defensive work from the home side kept them from scoring their first goal. With the score remaining 0-0, Halifax started to take the upper hand and before half time the Doncaster keeper managed to prevent Halifax from getting all important first goal of the match.
Into the second half and Halifax and Doncaster were well matched with Halifax coming close on a number of occasion, with the Doncaster keeper saving shots from Emma Crawford, Emma Bedford and Kate Walsh.
Both sides continued to work hard and some good play by both sides, Doncaster were the team to get that all important first goal when a cross from the right enabled the left hand striker to put the ball into the back of the net.
Halifax continued to push forward but the away side managed to get two more goals which Halifax were not able to match. A disappointing result. Next week Halifax travel to away to face top of the league Chapletown
