Men's 1st team were duly crowned Yorkshire Divison 1 champions after the demolition of Doncaster 10-1.

The game was over in the first 10 minutes with a stunning hatrick from captain Matthew Graham.

From then on it was only a matter of how many goals the team could put away.

Leigh Walker, Josh Foreman and keeper Matthew Metclafe were rarely under pressure and Henry Shelton spread the play from the centre half position beautifully.

Josh Barron was able to use his pace and skill to get forward from right back and provide good ball for Michael Jones on the right wing.

Josh Sutcliffe made it 4-0 before half time with a clever lob over the diving keeper.

The target at the half time team talk was 9 to get the teams total goals to 100.

The team obliged with Graham striking in his 4th and Sutcliffe made it 6 with his 2nd goal.

Doncaster scored a consulation goal on the break to deny Metcalfe a clean sheet.

Jones got Halifax back on track with 2 thundering strikes from penalty corners and Jake Bamforth made it 9 to cap a good year for him.

It was fitting that Graham got the final goal with another powerful run and strike that gave the keeper no chance.

The team can now look forward to a higher level of opposition but will need to work hard in the pre season to up their performances if they are to compete at this higher level.

Unfortunately they will be losing 2 quality players in Henry Shelton who will be out of the area for the next year and Matthew Bairstow who is leaving to join Ben Rhydding HC who play at a higher level with Rhydding looking to play at national league level in the near future.
