3 really good Halifax goals were the highlight but the downside was 3 soft goals given away and 2 points dropped in the 3-3 draw with Leeds.

On a horrible Saturday afternoon, when the wind was blowing the goals around, it was not surprising that for most of the time this Yorkshire League 1 game was ugly

Leeds started the better but it was Halifax who took the lead with Matthew Bairstow deflected a Tom Love cross into the top corner.

Leeds then equalised with a bizarre goal. Matthew Metcalfe and Michael Jones somehow allowing the Leeds Centre forward to get a goal from a harmless situation.

Halifax were clearly the stronger side but poor passing and the inability to keep the ball for long enough allowed Leeds more possession than they should have.

Jake Bamforth showed good skills in creating space for himself close to the goal before calmly flicking the ball into the corner.

Matthew Graham took a nasty knock on the calf and while he was unusually subdued, he showed his class in scoring the 3rd goal. It was a great run beating 2 defenders before drawing the keeper out of position and slamming the ball home.

It looked like it was going to be a 15th win for the team but some weak defending allowed the Leeds danger man to have his chance from a penalty corner - he took this with a well directed flick and repeated the feat a few minutes later giving Metcalfe no chance.

It was clearly 2 points dropped in the draw but fortunately, their nearest rivals Rotherham also only drew so their healthy lead at the top of Yorkshire 1 was maintained.

With 5 games to go the team face a tricky trip to Grimsby next and may be without top scorer and captain Graham.
