It was another 3 points to keep Halifax firmly on top of Yorkshire Division 1, although not a pretty game on a cold blustery afternoon in Scunthorpe against mid table Normanby Park

The game was end to end with both teams playing through narrow channels and often bypassing the midfield.

Halifax made the better chances in the 1st 10 minutes with Josh Sutcliffe, Damien Reynolds and Matthew Graham going close.

However, it was the home side who took the lead firing into the corner after the Halifax defence failed to clear.

Gabe Coleman got the team back on level terms when his shot took a wicked deflection from a short corner, this qas quickly follwed by a second goal when Sutcliffe flicked the ball home after the keeper had saved Michael Jones's 1st shot from another well worked short corner routine.

2-1 at half time.

After 1/2 time the Halifax lads were working much more as a unit with skipper Graham beginning to influence the game after a poor 1st half.

Tom Love and Josh Barron were making penetrating runs and creating space. The Halifax twin strike force of Graham and Jake Bamforth were being provided with better ball and Bamforth made it 3-1 being nicely set up by Graham.

Graham then made it 4 flicking effortlessly into the roof of the net after yet another well worked penalty corner move.

Cameron Hellowell was promoted from the 2nd team and he made an instant impact with a lovely cross to Bamforth who calmly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper.

The home side were still dangerous but Matthew Metcalfe in the Halifax goal capped a fine game with a couple of excellent saves.

Graham completed the scoring combining once again with Bamforth for an easy tap in goal.

A good 6-1 win but with nearest rivals Rotherham and Harrogate also winning the team will need to maintain their good form as the take on a strong Leeds team next Saturday.
