With 6 changes from the previous week, the Men's 1sts were disjointed and up against a fit, hard hitting Normanby Park. They drew 3-3 to remain unbeaten but came away disappointed.

The Halifax lads had plenty of possession and created the only chances in the first 20 minutes but failed to find the killing pass or shot.

It was a smashed ball into the Halifax D that created the 1st goal with the ball being deflected by Josh Barron passes a stranded Matthew Metcalfe.

It was a cruel goal but this spurred the Normanby Park team on and they had a good spell of pressure but Henry Shelton, Dave Wheatley and Barron defended well to keep the regular long balls into the attacking area away from danger.

Halifax got a deserved equaliser just before 1/2 time with Jake Bamforth flicking the ball into the roof of the net after a good pass from Michael Jones.

Halifax were still struggling to pass the ball well into the midfield and hold possession- Matthew Graham was switched to a midfield roll to use his passing skills and this helped to maintain the link from the back to the front and the team created a few chances. Unfortunately they conceded a penalty corner which was again cruelly deflected into the goal to give the visitors and undeserved lead.

The team responded well with a superb move which saw Tom Love put a slide rule pass through to Jones who cleverly slipped the ball to Bamforth who slapped the ball home. Halifax maintained the momentum and Damion Reynolds finished off another fine move neatly deflecting a Bamforth cross into the far corner.

At 3-2 the team looked good for their 5th straight win but the long ball again was their undoing when the defence conceded a soft penalty corner and then allowed a soft shot to find the corner of the net.

The last 5 minutes saw Halifax dominate and ace striker Graham will be cursing himself as he was put clean through on goal with a lovely pass from Jones but while he sent the keeper the wrong way, his shot went narrowly wide.

3-3 draw and hopefully the team will use this as a wake up call to start playing better for longer periods in their next game against Sheffield University next Saturday
