Halifax travelled away to York looking for another important win to ensure their survival in the Yorkshire Prem.
York started well, with wave after wave of attack being stopped by an organised Halifax defence led by David Wheatley and Leigh Walker.
At the other end, Halifax couldn't register a shot on target in the first half. York took the lead midway through the first half and Halifax went into the break 1-0 down.
Halifax had more attacking intent in the second half and managed to get a foothold on the game. Unfortunately they fell further behind after a short corner.
Halifax pulled one back after good passing from Barron, Love and Bamforth, left Matthew Graham with a one on one which he tucked away.
But York extended their lead as they scored again from a short corner.
Halifax pushed for a goal and were soon rewarded as Tom Love's reverse confused the York keeper and flew into the top corner.
Halifax wasted a couple of opportunities from short corners and Barron missed a good chance to draw them level.
Unfortunately York scored one last and left Halifax waiting until next week for a chance at picking up more points.
