First win of season for Men's 1sts

After a hardfought draw the week before, Halifax were in confident mood going into the clash with Leeds.

Halifax adjusted their formation for the game and the move paid off as Halifax started strongly and went 2-0 up in the first half with goals from Jake Bamforth and Casey Marshall.

The new 4 man midfield worked tirelessly and Halifax remained strong at the back with man of the match Metcalfe making some important saves.

Halifax picked up the second half where they left off as Barron finished off a swift counter attack after good work from Bamforth and Graham.

Leeds hit back with a goal and began to put Halifax under pressure as they tried to find a way back into the game.

Foreman, Walker, Wheatley and Arch stood firm in defence with some and Halifax held out to win 3-1.

Halifax will be looking to build on their victory when they face Ben Rhydding on Saturday.
