U12 Girls reached the top league for first time in club history!

Halifax 1 - Driffield 0
Halifax 1 - Sheffield B 0
Halifax 0 - Hull 1
Halifax 2 - Huddersfield Dragons 0
Halifax 0 - Wakefield B 0

After three months of growth and consolidation as a team the Under 12 girls have developed in confidence and skill.

They dominated their first game against Driffield who defended well but could not sustain the pressure placed on them by Molly Jackson Hill, Sophie Hall, Annabelle Shaw and Kimberley Gaukrodger who's well timed shot gave Halifax the win.

The second game saw a fantastic end to end game with excellent defensive work being displayed by Amelie Horner, Ciara Brennan, Olivia Sylge and Georgia King keep out Sheffield on their counter attacks. However good passing from the midfield led to a great run down the wing by Shaw into the D and an incredibly powerful strike hit the backboard with force to once again take the game.

The next game proved to be an incredible battle for both teams and despite ferocious tackling by the whole team Hull who didn't lose a game all day achieved the win after a deflected shot beat the advancing King who had the original strike covered.

The fourth game against local rivals saw the whole team pass the ball around well to eliminate the Huddersfield midfield and defence and after several attempts on goal Jackson Hill beat the keeper to score a lovely first goal and Gaukrodger placed the second neatly into the left corner to win 2-0.

The last game against Wakefield B was crucial and proved end to end and despite good defensive clearances, midfield battles and several shots on target the final game finished goalless.

A draw was enough and Halifax were rewarded for their determination and hard work with promotion to Division 1.

Well done to all the girls who did themselves, their parents and their coaches proud.
