The latest Yorkshire League Tournament for the U12 girls took place on November 1st

Halifax 0 - Hull 1
Halifax 3 - Driffield 0
Halifax 0 - Harrogate 0
Halifax 0 - Sheffield 0
Halifax 0 - Thirsk 0

Halifax under 12 girls played extremely well in what was a very tight league.

The first game against Kingston Upon Hull was very close with both sides pressing hard. Stout defending by Amelie Horner, Ciara Brennan and Goal Keeeper Georgia King kept Hull at bay for most of the time but after a slight lapse of concentration in midfield Hull took advantage and with very physically strong players they overpowered the Halifax defence to score and take the win.

Great passing from the midfield team of Amelia Bizley, Sophie Hall, Lauren Gillespie and Annabel Shaw kept the play mainly in the Driffield half and the pressure proved too much for the opposition with Shaw scoring two and Gilespie taking the third to get a well deserved win.

The following three games against Harrogate, Sheffield and Thirsk were extremely tight with end to end play for all teams nil - nil draws just about for all games within that group.

Kimberley Gaukroger was unlucky not to score on several occasions but the team kept marking tight throughout and did an excellent job not to concede.

Scoring 3 and only conceding 1 was an excellent result and placed the Halifax girls in third place so they stay in division 2 for the next set of games at the end of November.
