U14 Girls 1st Yorkshire league tournament was held in Leeds on 4th October

U14 Girls won both games in league in league 4 of 8 and should now be promoted up to league 3 in the next games in November

They played really well as a team and passed the ball well to say they have never played together as a team on a full size pitch.

GAME 1 - Halifax 3-0 Selby:

Both teams played with 11 outfield players as their keepers were injured and Halifax dominated the majority of the play. Any Selby attacks were dealt with by Felicity Raud, Leah Kalter and Amy March in midfield superbly supported in defence by Sydny Midgley, Anna Wasilewski, Issy English- Burns and Amelie Horner

Halifax 1st goal was scored by Katelyn Muff after a well worked ball into the D. 2nd goal came from good passing from Raud to Hannah Rhodes who ran down the line and hit the ball to Abbey Greenwood who hit the ball first time into the net. Halifax 3rd goal came from Kalter’s quick thinking from a long corner and took the ball to the edge of the D and passed to Raud who swept the ball home

GAME 2 - Halifax 1-0 Huddersfield.

Playing at a slight dis advantage with 11 outfield players, Halifax were under pressure for the majority of the time from Huddersfield but marked and defended superbly well. A quick pass from Kalter to March in midfield saw her slip the ball to Greenwood on the half way line, she then ran all the way into the D and slipped the ball under the Huddersfield goal keeper for the only goal of the game. Huddersfield upped their work rate but this was dealt with well by the Halifax Midfield and defence.
