They had a mixed morning playing 3 games, winning one, drawing 1 and losing one.
After promotion in their last matches, the games were likely to be harder but the boys competed well in all the games.
GAME 1 : THIRSK DRAW 0-0
1st up were Thirsk and the game was even throughout with both keepers making good saves to keep the score goalless. The Halifax keeper David Garside particularly impressive. Kaenan Sutcliffe had a great shot saved and Elliot Bullick also went close. Michael Broadbent and Harry Stobard were excellent in the heart of the Halifax defence and the 0-0 draw was a fair result.
GAME 2 : SLAZENGERS LOST 0-1
Next up were a strong Slazengers team but the lads raised their game and not only defended well but were dangerous in attack- Sean Fitzpatrick had a very good game combining well with Jacob Orley, Jakob Morley and George English-Burns. Unfortunately late in the game, some sloppy play gifted Slazenger a goal which proved to be the winner.
GAME 3 : CHAPLETOWN WIN 2-1
The last game was against Chapletown from Sheffield and the Halifax totally dominated the game with Jacob Edmondson and Ethan Marshall hardly needing to touch the ball in the Halifax defence. English- Burns just couldn't find his scoring touch going close on several occasions and it was left to Bullick to open the scoring with a simple tape in after a lovely pass from Morley. Orley got a deserved 2nd goal with a thundering strike from a penalty corner. 2-1 the final score
