The latest Junior Tournament for the U12 boys took place on October 25th

The Halifax U12 team did really well this morning after being promoted in their last tournament.

With 3 wins and 1 defeat in their league of 5, looks like it is a 2nd consecutive promotion to division 3 in November.(with the top 2 teams gaining promotion).

As is often the way, they get caught cold in the 1st game against Bridlington and lost it 1-0 to a team they would beat later in the matches.

The team were awake for the next game against one of the better teams in this league Brigg. Noah Thomis opened the scoring using good stick skills to make space in the D before finding the corner of the net. Charlie Glenn and Michael Brook were excellent in defence and made sure Georgia King in the Halifax net did not have too much to do although she had to make a couple of good saves.

The 2nd goal was a beauty with a superb pass from Thomis finding Archie King whose 1st touch was great allowing him time to fire the ball into the corner. Brigg were not giving up and scored a consolation late in the game.

3rd game against Sheffield found the team passing the ball more accurately and goals followed from Thomis(2), Rhys Hancock with a strong slap(1) and a superb strike from Peter Stobart to give the team a 4-0 win.

In the 4th game against Driffield, both Tom Batchelor and Brook shone and 5 goals were scored at regular intervals- 2 from thomis, 1 from Batchelor, 1 from King and 1 from Hancock. Glenn was unlucky to not get on the score sheet as the team went home very happy with their mornings work.

They will look forward to harder opposition next Month.
