It was back round to the U12s this weekend and we had 2 U12 girls teams playing at Ben Rhydding on Sunday morning and both teams played some excellent team hockey. Both teams were in leagues of 6.

Team 1

They lost to York and Harrogate but got a good draw with Ben Rhydding and thumped Leeds 3-0 with a hat trick from Lucy Hampshire.

They finished 4th in their league

Team 2

They drew with Doncaster but beat the 2 Ben Rhydding teams and Leeds Adel. After dominating the game against Aire Valley they were unlucky to lose to a late break away goal.

Orla Bentley Elliot only conceded 1 goal in 6 games and is showing some great signs as the team's keeper. Sophie Beresford did well in her 1st games for the club and both Molly Fell and Molly Thompson also played well in their 1st games.

Isla Flesher Smith was excellent on the left flank as was Rea Vaqiari on the right. Isabella Walker scored 4 good goals with Molly Fell getting on the score sheet.

Rose Rooke was strong in defence and player of the tournament was Grace Adams not only with her work rate but with the close skills she showed to keep the ball away from the opposition. The team deservedly finished top of their league.
