The summary is that Step1 permits organised Outdoor sports from March 29th and allows us to return to hockey. However, the underlying details form the government and how they will be translated by England Hockey into guidelines to us as a club are still unknown. Its highly likely the initial period from March 29th will require some restrictions to be adhered to.

To assist with what activities we as a club provide and attempt to arrange from March 29th onwards, we were going to run a club survey to get your feedback.

However, England Hockey are running a very comprehensive survey that includes several questions about how you are feeling, what activities you would like the club to run, what information you would like to see from your club to help with return to play, and how confident you are about returning.

What do players think?

Understanding how players feel about returning to play is critical to ensure a safe and supportive Return to Play, therefore England Hockey have been getting the views of the hockey community to understand more about attitudes to returning.

The early signs from the survey are that there is a strong appetite to return but also a requirement to ensure that individual needs are understood in returning and that undue pressure isn’t put on any players, coaches or volunteers.
