In form Halifax started brightly winning their first penalty corner inside the second minute of the game.
Unable to convert the early pressure into a goal, Halifax bombarded the Driffield goal with shots. 20 minutes into the game it fell upon the shoulders of experienced back Alison McManus to hit home a straight strike from a penalty corner to score Halifax's opening goal.
This seemed to settle the Halifax side and a second goal soon followed from a deflection by captain Nicola Boulton.
Halifax continued to apply pressure to the Driffield goal. Shortly before half time Sara Woodhead scored an individual goal after rolling out of a tackle in the D and squeezing the ball into the bottom corner, wrong footing the Driffield keeper.
In the second half Player of the Day Cara James and top tackler Zoe Ribchester continued to apply pressure on the Driffield defence, and a fourth goal was scored by youngster Lydia Robinson.
Driffield rallied part way through the second half but the Halifax defence stood firm with yet another clean sheet.
Promotion is a real possibility at the end of the season and Halifax continued to apply pressure to the Driffield goal to try to improve their goal difference statistics.
