Horsforth I 2 - 5 Halifax III
Halifax have now reached the semi final of the Yvonne Horner Shield after a convincing away win against Horsforth on Sunday. The home side got an early goal through some great individual skill but Halifax struck back quickly with Vicki Ferdinando managing to squeeze the ball passed the keeper. Horsforth had a quick reply to make it 2-1. Halifax then dug in deep, after a sluggish start to the game, they started to control it. A great shot on goal from Margaret Bottomley was deflected by the keeper, but Emma Clarkson's quick reactions saw her get the rebound and get Halifax's second goal.
The second half saw Halifax continue to press the home side. Some brilliant defending from Gemma Robinson and Nicola Boulton meant the dangerous Horsforth player was unable to create any chances for her side. Halifax then stared to dominate. Bottomley got her goal in the second half with a fantastic finish in the bottom corner after a brilliant pass in from the wing from Adele Muff. Harriet Wood added to the tally with a great finish and Muff sealed the win with a amazing strike that was just two powerful for the keeper to keep out. Halifax will now play in the semi final against Leeds IV on Sunday 27th November.
