The team started well with Michael Broadbent working well in midfield and Paul Crowther providing good ball from the left.
Mick Brennan found Phil Green with a lovely pass and his early shot was too hot for the Ben Rhydding keeper.
Halifax quickly made it 2-0 when Tom Cullen flicked a penalty corner high into then roof of the net.
Paul Graham and Andy Turner were rarely troubled in the heart of the Halifax defence and Sean Fitzpatrick was able to get forward from right back to support the attack.
Youngster Elliot Bullick made it 3-0 with a skilful run and calm finish after good work from Crowther.
Halifax then began to give the ball away too easily and allowed the visitors too much possession. It was no surprise when they scored to cut the arrears.
Roy Atkinson restored the 3 goal cushion and Halifax saw out the last 10 minutes without too many problems to stay in the top half of the table.
