The team totally dominated the game but some poor finishing was the story of the game. The team played really well passing and moving into good areas,14 year old Michael Broadbent is maturing nicely into his midfield role and also youngsters Elliot Bullick and George English-Burns are starting to have a bigger impact in the game creating problems all day for the Boston Spa defenders.
After some near misses, it was veteran Paul to open the scoring stepping up at a penalty corner to calmly flick the ball on his reverse side into the top corner.
Andy Turner and Paul Newton were having few problems in defence and youngster Sean Fitzpatrick was able to make some great runs from right back into the heart of the home defence setting up Connor Sutcliffe to show his skills but the finish was not forthcoming.
Philip Green was also creating problems for Boston Spa but the game remained at 1-0 until finally the game was put to bed from the 9th penalty corner with Sutcliffe beating the 1st runner to flick the ball into the net with the keeper only able to half stop it.
Trevor Love and Graham used their experience to ensure Boston Spa did not mount a comeback and James Smith in Halifax goal only had 1 save to make all game.
All in all, a good team performance with the team playing hockey in the proper way.
