It was 3 wins on the bounce for the Halifax lads with a good performance at Leeds University against Leeds 8.
The game started with Halifax playing some good passing hockey and the team should have taken the lead with Paul Graham seeing his powerful flick hit the post.
The strong back 4 of Halifax including Jamie Maddox, Graham Rodgers, Paul Mayes and Rob Keen gave Leeds very few openings and the game was 0-0 at half time.
Halifax made the breakthrough with Harry Greenwood sweeping the ball home after a really good move involving Graham and Simon Meredith.
Halifax failed to get the killer 2nd goal and Leeds equalised from a powerful flick at a short corner that John Kalter was unable to block.
The next 10 minutes saw the game evenly balanced with Kalter having to make a smart save and both Sean Fitzpatrick and Bailey Blagbrough working hard to create chances but it was2 great strikes by Maddock from penalty corners which settled the game with Jack Willis scoring the 4th after a fine run and strike passed the advancing keeper.
New captain Nigel Bowers was pleased with the attitude and determination of the team to take the 3 points and go into the next game with confidence high.
