Halifax thought they would be in for a hard game as it was 3rd V 4th in the league but it was a one sided contest from the start with Tadcaster 2nd team not at all strong.
Missed chances in the 1st half saw Halifax only go into half time 2-0 up with Dave Collins scoring both goals.
Jamie Maddock, Simon Meredith and Paul Mayes was rarely troubled in the heart of the defence and John Kalter had only one save to make as Tadcaster made the occasional break.
The second half saw the floodgates open with Cameron Hellowell, Jack Willis and Michael Broadbent having plenty of room and Paul Graham able to pass to these players and get them running into dangerous areas.
Collins scored another 3 goals, with Hellowell, Graham and Lee Chapman also getting on the score sheet.
The final 10 minutes saw Halifax take their foot off the gas and Tadcaster stole a consolation goal to make it 8-1.
The win keeps Halifax in the promotion hunt with 2 games next weekend.
