The Halifax 3rd X1 got back on track with a deserved victory against Leeds Adel on Saturday up at Park Lane.
The inclusion of Leigh Walker added experience and quality to the team and from the 1st few minutes the team looked positive while adopting a good passing game. The 1st goal was well worked with Paul Graham getting forward after being given a good pass from Walker. Graham drew the keeper before slipping the pass to the onrushing Cameron Hellowell who scored from close range.
The hosts continued to dominate and several chances were created. The 2nd goal was scored by top scorer Dave Collins who cleverly deflected a mis- hit shot past the Adel keeper.
Adel did not give in and in the 2nd half they had a little more possession but the Halifax defence of Paul Mayes, Jamie Maddock, Harry Greenwood and Steve Sparkes were rarely troubled. Michael Broadbent, Graham, Walker and Jake Willis bossed the midfield and Lee Chapman caused Adel problems from the right wing position.
Despite their dominance, the team only managed one further goal with Hellowell flicking the ball into the corner from a penalty corner. Adel scored a late equaliser on the break but the 3-1 win was more comfortable than the scoreline suggests.
