The relegation of the mens 3rd team to Yorkshire division 5 north, meant the team has found itself in the same league as the clubs 4th team.
The encounter on Saturday promised to be an interesting one.
This was not the case with the 3rd X1 running out comfortable 7-0 winners.
There was never really any doubt about the result as soon as Dave Collins got on the end of a good sweeping move started by Paul Mayes to finish with some arrogance. Simon Meredith quickly made it 2-0 with a superb strike.
The 4th XI worked hard to compete with Michael Broadbent doing particularly well. Elliot Bullick and Sean Fitzpatrick were excelling for the 3rd XI and Collins got his 3rd goal on the half hour with Bullick making it 4 just before half time.
Jacob Edmondson and Gordon Hines defended stoutly for the 4th team in the 2nd half and the keeper made some good saves but Collins completed his hatrick before going onto get a 4th.
Jack Willis completed the scoring showing too much pace for the 4th team defence.
With 2 wins in a row the 3rd X1 are sitting pretty on the top of the league but it is early days with a tricky trip to York on Saturday.
