With the season end approaching, Halifax made the trip to Sheffield to face promotion contenders Sheffield Uni Bankers knowing that only a win would do to keep promotion hopes alive.
With a bare 11 available Halifax knew it was going to be a tough match against the young university side but that didn't stop the team going into the match determined to put in a good performance.
The game started evenly with neither team dominating possession; chances came and went at both ends but no-one was able to apply the finishing touch.
Gradually the balance shifted in favour of the opposition with some excellent defending and some cracking saves from keeper James Smith meaning that Halifax stayed in the game.
With the defence holding out Halifax created some good chances on the counter-attack. Unfortunately, with Horsley lacking his usual clinical finishing touch and no-one else able to get a clean shot away, the chances came to nothing. Half time came round and the score stayed at 0-0.
The Bankers continued to dominate possession in the second half and with the tiring legs of the Halifax defence they got closer and closer to putting the ball in the back of the net.
Halifax kept up the counter-attacking spirit to keep the Bankers on their toes and you could feel the frustration building up the longer the game stayed goalless.
When the breakthrough finally came it fell to the Bankers, the Halifax defence only partly dealing with a cross leaving the opposition to force the ball into the net after a goal mouth scramble.
With only a few minutes on the clock both teams looked to push for the next goal.
It didn't come and the game ended 1-0, giving Bankers the points they needed to secure promotion.
Overall, an even game after a good performance from the 11 that turned up.
In the end left with a feeling that a lack of substitutes cost Halifax the points.
