Battling draw for Men's 2nds
The Men's 2nd XI drew 3-3 at home with a strong Leeds Gryphons side, in a game that saw the lead change hands several times.
Halifax took an early lead hitting Leeds on the break Jon Horsley and Dave Willis combining well and Willis scoring.
Leeds got 1 back with a flick from a short corner which James Smith in goal just missed.
Willis then had a great chance to put Halifax back in front, but the Leeds keeper made a great save with his stick.
Halifax took the lead in the second half Willis again finding the roof of the net from close in.
Leeds bounced back and drew level once again with a deflected shot and then pushed on to take the lead from a soft shot that squirmed threw James' pads.
Halifax then had the ball in the net only for a short corner to be given instead of a goal. From the resulting play Willis turned provider taking the ball on a great surging run along the back line and setting up a simple tap in at the far post for Jon Horsley.
A 3-3 draw was probably fair result on reflection but Halifax were left to reflect on opportunities missed and soft goals conceeded.
