Comfortable win for Mens 2s

In what was an even first half, Halifax took an early lead and went ahead 2-0 after some clinical finishing.

The first goal came from a well worked short corner with Marshall putting the ball past the Tadcaster keeper. A Halifax counter-attack, with a strong run into the opposition D by Willis, resulted in Horsley converting from close range, keeping his goal scoring run on track.

The good work from Halifax continued through the half with some good work from Foreman at right half, bringing the ball out of defence quickly to set up Halifax attacks.

Coming out into the second half Halifax were expecting some Tadcaster pressure as they looked to get on the score sheet. Some determined defending kept Tadcaster out including some good stops from keeper, Smith.

Then came a 15 minute spell where Halifax decided to gift time and possession to Tadcaster resulting in some sustained pressure and numerous short corners.

Fortunately the Tadcaster attack could only find the target once; a Tadcaster forward had an easy finish when he somehow came away with the ball after a scramble in the D.

Although under pressure, Halifax were still able to mount a number of counter-attacks. Through one of these, Halifax forced a short corner where the initial shot was saved on the line by the Tadacaster defence but Horsley was able to pick up the ball and slot it past the keeper from a tight angle.

Another fast counter-attack saw Horsley and Willis link well with the latter applying the final touch to take the game to 4-1.

With Tadcaster looking short of options, and the Halifax defence regaining some composure, the score line stayed the same until the final whistle
