Ben Rydding 3rds 1 Halifax 2nds 2
Halifax started the game well and had a number of chances early on Sam Spencer earning a penalty flick which the normally reliable Jon Horsley failed to put away. As the half wore on Rydding came into the game and Halifax under pressure started to make some carless mistakes. The hosts made their pressure pay when they scored from a well worked short corner.
Halifax started the second half poorly Simon Arch having a ‘’Pete moment’’ spending the first 5 minutes continually running the ball off the side line rather than making a pass. Steve Sparkes in the Halifax goal made some sharp saves to keep the game alive. As the half wore on and the opposition started to tire Halifax got on level terms Elliott Bullick getting on the score sheet again.
With 5 minutes to go Elliot picked the ball up in the D avoided kicking it which he was making a habit of and fired towards goal, hit a Rydding foot and earned another penalty flick. Up stepped Jon Horsley who calmly put the ball right in the corner to earn 3 points and keep Halifax’s unbeaten run on track.
