Halifax Ladies 1s bounced back to winning ways this weekend by beating rivals Leeds Adel comfortably 5-1.
After a mixture of recent results Halifax set out strongly and were 1-0 after Michaela Holroyde put the ball in the goal.
The defensive line pushed high and blocked any Adel attempts on goal and through some very fast paced running young guns Amelie Horner and Izzy Crowe pressured the defenced and the flood gates opened.
Before half time it was Halifax 4 Adel 0 with Katie Wood completing a hat trick and putting the jitters to bed.
Second half didn’t start so brightly, although a body was put on the line unfortunately this resulted in Adel gaining a penalty flick.
But one goal was not going to be enough for Adel to turn this game around and Halifax continued to press and Wood scored her 4th of the game and put it out of reaching distance.
All players worked hard and the momentum restored to stay top of the league for the final run of fixtures
