Ladies 1s lose in tough start to 2014
Halifax Ladies travelled to Ben Rhydding for the first game of 2014. Ben Rhydding proved too strong on the day, and ran out 6-3 winners.
Despite the break, Ben Rhydding were sharp from the off and soon scored their first goal after breaking from a Halifax short corner.
Halifax fought back well and were able to equalise, having taken advantage of an attacking short corner.
Further goals form both sides saw the score at 3-2 to Ben Rhydding at half time.
Ben Rhydding appeared to take control in the first 15minutes of the second half; taking their chances and they increased their lead to 6-2.
Halifax did not let their heads go down and had numerous chances on goal. However, the found that Ben Rhydding's keeper was very strong and in good form.
Halifax's perseverence did manage to create a third goal; Kate Walsh scoring her hat trick.
The final score was 6-3 to Ben Rhydding whom appeared the better team on the day.
