A hard fought match between Halifax ladies first team and Leeds University second team ended in a 1-1 draw following a number of chances for both teams. Halifax started well but found themselves under considerable pressure from a strong and quick university team. The score was 0-0 at half time and Halifax were lucky not to be behind at the break following a number of on target shots from Leeds which tested the on form Cassie Barker in goals.
The second half was much better from Halifax with a number of changes in formation and they were unlucky to go behind. An unfortunate free hit led to a cross pitch ball which was deflected in across the keeper and trickled agonising over the line.
Not disheartened, Halifax continued to press and after the ball was carried down the line by Steph Jones and crossed into the circle to Dani Parker, Becca Brown was on hand to force the ball home for a well deserved equaliser. In the next few minutes Halifax spurned opportunities to take the lead. In the dying minutes Leeds mounted some pressure on the Halifax goal but with some great defensive work from Natalie Tyson and man of the match Regan Midgley they held out for the draw.
