A weakened Ladies 1s lost narrowly away to Rotherham 3-2 in what proved to be a frustrating afternoon

Rotherham opened the scoring but it wasn't long before top goalscorer Dani Parker grabbed the equaliser.

Rotherham then went up 2-1 just before half time. The goal was surrounded in controversy as the Halifax team were convinced the fee hit outside their D from which they launched the attack shouldn't have been given.

Halifax came out with a point to prove in the second half and counter attacked early down the left, Emma Cavalier played a lovel through ball for Lauren Wright to latch on to and score.

With the score held at 2-2 and despite the weakened team tiring, Danielle O'Neill and Ruth Prosser persisted to pile on the pressure but Hlaifax couldn't find the elusive goal they needed.

Cassie Barker made some excellent saves but unfortunately it was one too many and Rotherham nicked what proved to be the winning goal with 3 minutes to go.

Rotherham 3 Halifax 2.
