Local bragging rights go to Ladies 1s

On Saturday 24th October Ladies 1s hosted Huddersfield Dragons at home.

The local derby held 0-0 until half time where both teams fought hard; Cassie Barker making an excellent save on a defending short corner.

Dragons came out strong in the second half scoring the first goal. However, Halifax returned with a ball down the line from Emma Cavalier finished with a left sweep from Lauren Wright.

Halifax continued to dominate from that point onwards; Lauren Wright was causing problems for the Huddersfield midfield down the left and Danielle O'Neill was commanding through the middle.

Emma Bedford created numerous opportunities for Halifax up front and these chances were starting to come with increased frequency.

Michaela Midgley managed a deflection to make it 2-1 and Jenny Brennan finished two more off from a straight strike on a short corner and a penalty flick after a foul on Bedford to make it 4-1.

Dragons stole one more goal when Halifax unfortunately went down to 10 men through a sending off but their efforts were short lived and Halifax won 4-2.
