Halifax ladies 1s hosted Wakefield at Park Lane, and after a draw earlier in the season it promised to be a tight game.
Both teams were evenly matched early on in the game until Halifax clinched an early goal; Steph Jones took a rebound off the keepers pads to put Halifax on the score board.
Wakefield pushed hard and rose to the game to match Halifax pulling the score back to 1-1 after twenty minutes.
Halifax began to settle and play their own game; Danielle Oneill and Emma Fradgley linked well on the left; Fradgley managed to pick Steph Jones out on the top of the D who passed to Emma Crawford which took halifax to 2-1 at half time.
Wakefield came out strong in the second half, but Halifax stronger; Danielle Oneill held the middle and allowed Lauren Wright to push high down the right adding extra strength to the Halifax attack.
Danielle Oneill played a through ball in to the D and Emily Wilkinson managed to get hold smashing the bottom right corner of the goal.
