Confirmation and update on the YHA adoption of the new rule changes - effective from this weekend (27th Feb)

** IMPORTANT UPDATE - PLEASE READ **

I'm sure you will have seen the recent updates made by the FIH to the Rules of Hockey, specifically rule 13.2 which relates to the taking of an attacking free hit within 5 metres of the attacking circle

England Hockey have confirmed the adoption of the new rules and we can confirm that these will be effective from tomorrow's games and for the remainder of the 2015-2016 season.

To support this implementation at short notice, YHA have confirmed that pre-match both umpires, both coaches and both captains must confirm with each other that this rule change will be applied and communicate this to the team members. This will hopefully avoid confusion should any player be unaware of the change.

Further details can be found on the YHA website - see link below. There are further links to the England Hockey and FIH sites from there.
