As you know Umpires are an important part of the game and every year we need to ensure that across the club we have enough Umpires to fulfil all our fixtures.

This article is to pass on details and information about becoming an Umpire to anyone that may be interested and to let you know about some upcoming courses

INTERESTED

We are looking to host our own umpire course, at Park Lane High School in January. This is subject to enough people being interested to make it worthwhile.

The course would be either split across 2 week day evenings, or all day on a Sunday.

If you are interested please can you email - admin@halifaxhockeyclub.co.uk to let us know of your interest and as part of your response, please let us know which of the two options you prefer for timings

COST

The cost of the course is £50. The club is prepared to refund this cost after completing a minimum of 3 games Umpiring for the Club.

We will need a refundable deposit of £10 from you to confirm your place. This will be refunded when you attend the course, if you do not attend the deposit will not be refunded.

In the rest of the article below, there are some brief details about the course itself and about courses held in the local area by other clubs. At the moment there is only 1 planned in the immediate area (Harrogate)

LOCAL COURSES

Currently there is only one planned local course
• Level 1 Umpire Course- Deadline 02/12/15
• Venue: Harrogate HC, Granby Hockey Centre, Ainsty Rd, Harrogate HG1 4AP
• Start date: 13.12.2015 | Duration: Sunday 13th December 2015
