Latest U14 girls Yorkshire League Tournament took place this weekend at Darton

Halifax U14 Girls returned to Division 3 which resulted in a much better team performance than their last outing.

Huddersfield : 1-0

Halifax continued their winning streak against Huddersfield with a 1-0 win. A good solo run from Amy March saw her shot saved but March was alert was on hand to tap the deflected shot into the net. Halifax absorbed the Huddersfield attacks with excellent defending from Anya Wasilewski, Sydny Midgley and Issy English-Burns together with a great debut performance from Neve Davison and Jade Gray.

Wakefield : 0-0

In a game with chances at both ends Halifax drew 0-0 with Wakefield. Excellent keeping from Kathy Shao and good work in midfield from Felicity Raud, Leah Kalterand Katelyn Muff with stong running from Abbie Greenwood and Charlotte Taylor were met with a strong Wakefield defence and goal keeper.

Driffield 1-1

Halifax went down to an early goal after a collision between the Halifax keeper and Driffield striker which resulted in a loose ball which was tapped in. Wasilewski also took a few bad knocks but showed strength of character to carry on. Showing great resillance and changing their tactics, Kalter man marked the Driffield striker. A well worked ball from Raud to March saw her run into the edge of the D and hit a fantastic sweeping shot in the corner. Halifax were unlucky not to win the game when a pass to Taylor who was in an open goal was just out of her reach.

Good performances to finish the season.
