We would like to have all coaches, junior managers and at least one player from each senior team to be trained in First Aid. We would also welcome any parents, relatives and partners who regularly attend games to spectate to take up the training to maximise our First Aid coverage across the club.

As you'll see below, there is no cost as the club will pay for the course, so it's a great opportunity.

DATE

The date whilst TBC will be ASAP in the new year and is based on numbers interested. We need a minimum of 20 people to attend and will extend the invite to other clubs if needed.

The course will either be split across 2 week day evenings or all day on a Sunday

COST

The cost will be free to Halifax Hockey Club members

However we will need a refundable deposit of £10 from you to confirm your place. This will be refunded when you attend the course, if you do not attend the deposit will not be refunded.

CONTENT

The course is a First Aid course with relevant additions for Sports Related injuries. A brief high level overview is below

Aims & Qualities of a sporting first aider ,
General action in a sporting emergency,
Conduction a Primary Survey,
C.P.R Adult, Child & Baby,
Unconscious casualty (recovery position),
Treatment for minor wounds and bleeding,
Treatment for fractures, dislocation,
Sprains & Strains,
Treatment for spinal injuries & head injuries,
Treatment for a choking casualty,
Treatment for heart, cardiac & breathing problems,
Requirements of a sporting first aid kit.
