Quick round up of the end of season dates for your diary and the details of what's planned for the summer and pre-season

Hi everyone,

The end of the season is nearly here so we wanted to send you a mini newsletter to let you know of some upcoming plans for the summer and pre-season and also a reminder of some dates for your diary.

Please note the following important information:

  • Ladies' training will finish on Tuesday 8th March. We aim to run a 5/6/7 a side tournament between 7.00pm-9.00pm (please note different start/finish time). It would be great to see as many people as possible coming in to the bar afterwards for a drink!
  • Men's training will finish on Wednesday 9th March We will tailor the session based on numbers. Be great to see as many as possible
  • Yorkshire Finals : Park Lane yet again hosts the finals of various Yorkshire Men's and Ladies' Cup competitions on Saturday 16th April. As you know it's always a great day and this year includes our ladies 3’s in the Yvonne Horner final against Leeds where some biased home support will be very welcome! No start times are available yet – so we will keep you posted.
  • Presentation Evening : Takes place on Saturday 23rd April – Always a good night with lots of awards & the much coveted ‘Muppet Award’ – any nominations please send in asap please.
  • Summer league : 3 Ladies' 7-a-side teams have been entered at Adel. These are likely to be on the following evenings:

  • - Ladies 2 Tuesdays (Captain: Wooders)
    - Ladies 3 Wednesday (Captain Required)
    - Ladies 4 Thursday (Captain Required)

Matches start week commencing 25th April for 9 weeks, with start times at either 7.30pm or 8.30pm

There are no Men's Summer Leagues planned as yet. If there are any volunteers to coordinate please get in touch.

    Pre 2016-17 Season Plans

  • Indoor Hockey : We have blocked booked some Indoor sessions for over the summer. The sessions will take place at Brooksbank starting on Weds 27th July from 6.30-9.00 for 6 weeks (finish 31st August). Open to all, look out for further details nearer the time.
  • Fitness training : This will start mid July at Park Lane. Anyone who aspires to play M/L 1/2’s is expected to try to attend; all others are welcome too. It's open to all and all levels of fitness will be catered for. Players are encouraged to take responsibility for their own fitness during the off-season and it is hoped that everyone will come back to pre-season training already having a good base level of fitness. To this end we will be sending out a Personal Fitness Plan should you wish to follow it over the summer. Dates and times to be confirmed
  • Stick & ball/GK training : Technical skills and drills rather than game-based play will start at the end of July. Dates and times to be confirmed
  • All details for the summer and pre-season programme will be available in a leaflet once the dates and time have been confirmed

  • Summer Socials : It's an action packed summer and we will look to put on a few social events through the break. The international hockey and Euro2016 football tournaments give us good opportunities to have a few drinks in the Players' Lounge also.
  • Finally ...

  • Survey : We would like to get feedback on aspects of the club and as such you will be sent a survey shortly. This will include thoughts on coaching and training in preparation for next season. Please take the time to complete it as your views are important and we would like to continue to make things such as training as enjoyable and worthwhile as possible for everyone.
  • Any questions just get in touch

    Thanks
    Mags & Jonny
