** HHC COACHING COURSES **

We hope this email finds you well. The club committee is trying to use the time during Lockdown 3 to good effect and where possible put plans in place for the next Return To Play phase.

You may have already seen that we have secured a “Return to Play” Grant from Sport England and we are planning for the future, to come out of Covid restrictions stronger and better. Rather than the funding just going into our general “income” we have to utilise the grant in specific ways and evidence our Return To Play plans back to Sport England.

One of the things this grant will help to contribute towards is running some England Hockey coaching courses for our volunteers who help with coaching, managing and umpiring our teams on match days (both Senior & Junior)

Courses are currently taking place online, in the evenings. We are intending to arrange bespoke courses for the club which will mean everyone taking part will be members of Halifax HC and the courses can be tailored to our particular needs.

The workshops/courses we are intending to run are currently part of the EH programme and we have been working with the EH Coaching Development Team to establish which ones will give maximum benefit to enable you to help the club in delivering coaching sessions, coaching on matchdays and providing matchday support/management or umpiring.

Don’t worry about dates or booking onto anything for now, we are just looking to establish those interested and therefore numbers. Dates will be confirmed later once we have finalised the details with EH and created our bespoke set of courses. Similarly, the cost of the course(s) will be finalised once we have all this information and understand how much can be subsided by the grant.

NB: There will be costs the club will need to pay out upfront to secure and facilitate the courses, therefore once we have confirmed the costs, dates and your place, we will be asking for a firm commitment which will include the promise to repay any costs we incur due to you dropping out and no replacement being found
